Troop #772 Gears Up for Fall![]() Girl Scouts have been an integral part of more than 43 million women since it began in 1912. Forty-five US House and Senate members as well as one governor were once Girl Scouts. A few Girl Scouts became part of the White House including current First Lady Laura Bush, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, and Nancy Reagan. Others played key roles in US history including former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, nine US astronauts, and US Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Conner. We watched some daily on the national news—Katie Couric, Jane Pauley and Barbara Walters. Others entertain us on the big screen or with their music such as Lynda Carter, Sheryl Crow, Susan Lucci, Debbie Reynolds and Kathleen Turner. Many others went on to become writers, lawyers, doctors, sport champions, teachers, mothers and business executives. 8/25/2008, 5:05 PM |
