End the year with hope   printer

December 30, 2008

Dear Friends,

This week I received a fundraising email from an organization that has done great work all year, but the troubles in the economy have caused a decline in their donations. The CEO, almost anguished by the situation, asked for "whatever you can spare."

While I was moved by that appeal, I thought about how different our approach is at St. Luke's. Maybe it's our 96-year history or our grounding in a hope that gives us a quiet confidence that our supporters will always come through for us. You know how important the work we do together is.

One of our West Nashville neighbors, April Brown, put it well when she told the Tennessean:

"We thought we weren't going to have Christmas for my children this year," Brown said.

"My kids got a couple outfits, games, movies. Whoever adopted us also helped us pay for lights, which was a blessing. I thank God every night that I was able to get help."

So if you haven't made your gift to St. Luke's yet or would like to make another, please, go to our secure donation link or you can send your check to:
