End the year with hopeDecember 30, 2008
This week I received a fundraising email from an organization that has done great work all year, but the troubles in the economy have caused a decline in their donations. The CEO, almost anguished by the situation, asked for "whatever you can spare."
While I was moved by that appeal, I thought about how different our approach is at St. Luke's. Maybe it's our 96-year history or our grounding in a hope that gives us a quiet confidence that our supporters will always come through for us. You know how important the work we do together is.
"We thought we weren't going to have Christmas for my children this year," Brown said.
