The St. Luke’s internship program provides individuals with a “hands-on” experience that allows for an array of learning opportunities often not found in a larger organization or business. The St. Luke’s internship is tailored to suit the individual needs of each student and is suitable for a variety of majors. This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in marketing, public relations, program development, fundraising, non-profit philanthropy and business development. It is a fantastic way to give back while gaining valuable work experience that can be translated into a number of fields, both in and out of the non-profit sector. Duties St. Luke’s interns actively participate in event planning, program development, community outreach, membership recruitment, volunteer training and organizational development. They work directly with St. Luke’s staff and volunteers to implement programming, plan and execute special events, create and distribute marketing materials, and increase awareness regarding the role of St. Luke’s in the neighborhood known as old West Nashville. St. Luke’s Programs Interns will serve as vital support to St. Luke’s regular programs such as Mobile Meals, Senior Helpings, Emergency Food Box, Read-To-Succeed, Reading Buddies, and other community/family programs.
