ELL Classes
In partnership with Nashville Adult Literacy Council, St. Lukeís offers English as a Learned Language classes for beginning and intermediate students. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Free childcare is offered by St. Luke's volunteers. GED Prep Classes Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) provides GED preparation classes on St. Luke's campus four nights a week. Classes are from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Free childcare is offered by St. Luke's volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Culinary Training Program St. Luke's began its Culinary Training Program in 2007 through the generosity of Bank of America's Neighborhood Builders Program grant. The program is a ten-week course that provides safety and sanitation lessons; knife skills; basic baking and cooking skills; and more to individuals who desire a career in a professional kitchen. Students receive a certificate of completion and job placement. Job Coaching One-on-one mentoring with a business professional for adults needing career help. Mentors and clients set their own meeting times. Personal Finance Class Free class on managing your money, making a budget, and paying down debt. The class meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 5:30 to 7:00 pm and on the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Anger Management Classes The Domestic Violence Intervention Center provides court-ordered anger management education to separate classes of women and men every week at St. Luke's. Participants in the class must be referred through the court system to DVIC. |
