Toy Store 2009

The St. Luke’s Toy Store was created 20 years ago when it became clear that many of our neighbors could not afford holiday gifts and were not being served by any other social service agency. The average income of the families in this neighborhood is approximately $20,000 annually, so the holiday season is always especially stressful.

Last year’s Toy Store was a success. Thanks to your generous contributions, more than 940 children received toys! We would be so grateful if you would consider organizing a toy drive on our behalf.

WHEN: This year’s Toy Store will be held December 1st & 2nd from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.

WHAT: We serve children 0 – 16, but we have an overwhelming need for INFANT/TODDLER and TEEN toys this year. Listed below are some ideas of toys that were popular last year:

  • Infant/Toddler Toys
  • Rollerblades                                    
  • CDs Scooters/Skateboards
  • Journals/Gel Pens

  • Glitter gels/makeup                      
  • Titans/Predators gear
  • Scented Lotion Sets                        
  • Perfume/Cologne
  • Gift cards to Best Buy
  • Wal-Mart gift cards
  • Footballs, soccer balls, basketballs & other sports equipment
 
DELIVERY: Please deliver all unwrapped toys to St. Luke’s (5601 New York Ave.) between November 25 from 8:30 to noon or November 30 from 8:30 to 5:00. (If you are unable to deliver on these dates, please call us to make other arrangements.)
